Are you a Pink Elephant?
Below is a very powerful fairy tale, which has influenced and changed many people’s insight and awareness, including myself. Enjoy:
An extract from Bernard Hiller’s Book “Stop Acting Start Living”
“Once upon a time, a pink elephant was born. He was so clearly different from the rest of the elephants, that soon the gray elephants started to distance themselves from him, and they began to ignore him. The little pink elephant felt so sad and rejected. He realized that in order to fit in with the rest of the herd, he had to be just like them. So he covered himself with mud and dirt until he become gray. He went back to his friends and it seemed to him that they now accepted him as one of their own. Over the years he kept covering himself and hiding behind dirt. One day, he saw a small herd of elephants in the distance. They were all pink. He realized that in fact he was just like them, but was too scared to show his real self. In that moment, rain began pouring down and washed away all the mud and dirt from his body. He was pink again. The gray elephants turned around and started laughing at the sight of his pinkness. As their laughter grew louder, he realized that he was trying to fit in with a group that would never understand him. There was no hiding any more. He knew that he was different and that he needed to find a group of pink elephants just like him, where he would be accepted and he would learn to love himself!”
Pink is the universal color of agape – love, and elephants are massive and the most powerful land animals. This is how our Father made us, with a heart to feel and to give agape – love, and a mind that allows us to shift our reality into experiences that make us happy and joyful by shifting our thoughts and feelings.
So…. How do you feel right now? Do you feel that other people don’t understand you? Do you feel that you are the miss fit? Do people laugh at you? Do people stare at you? Do you wonder what is wrong with you? Do you wonder why you don’t like or want what other people like or want? Do you feel ashamed of who you are? Do you try to hide who you really are? Do other people criticize you or ridicule you?
These are most probably signs that you are a pink elephant. Please note that all great people in history were and are pink elephants, from Albert Einstein to Steve Jobs, from Walt Disney to Oprah Winfrey, and many more. Embrace your uniqueness, and let your talents and abilities shine to the world. Be proud to be different, Be proud to Pink!
Blessings and Agape
